Pergamum: Theater

Pergamum’s theater was etched into the steep slope of the acropolis, overlooking the valley. It had 80 rows of seats that could accommodate 10,000 people for performances of plays and musical competitions. Wooden structures were assembled on the stage during theatrical performances.
