Temples of Hercules & Portunus
The temples shown above lie near the Tiber River. The round temple, from the first century B.C., was probably dedicated to Hercules (rather than to the goddess Vesta, as some have thought). The rectangular temple to the right was probably dedicated to the harbor god Portunus in the second century B.C.
