Welcome!

Discover your gifts and explore your passion with this small group gifts discernment resource.  What's God Up To? is a small group gifts discernment resource developed by Emily Rova-Hegener on behalf of Centered Life and the Western Mission Network.

How does it work?  Browse reflection questions and other resources online and then gather with friends for insight and accountability. (Please find facilitator notes here.)

Over the next five weeks, there will be time for you to reflect personally on where you are in your life and to wrestle with questions listed below.  This doesn’t mean that at the end of the five weeks there is a formula for how you will live your life from this point on, but you will hopefully have a greater understanding of who you are. It is our hope that you will also be able to articulate your strengths, gifts, passions, abilities and have a greater sense of God’s presence and movement in your daily life.

  1. Why and how did I get here?
Begin a dialogue about why and how you arrived and this particular moment in your life. Create and explore a "life map" that identifies the people and experiences that shape who you are today.

  2. How is God involved in my life journey?
Start noticing where and how God plays a role in your daily life.  Experiment with different prayer forms and find places where you can listen to God's presence and leading in every moment.

  3. What gives me joy, life, freedom, and energy?
    List
some places in your life that consistently energize you as well as some places that consistently drain you.  These lists will hint at your passions, talents, gifts, and abilities.

  4. What am I good at?
The objective for this week is to learn what a natural fit is for you in terms of what you like to do in your day to day life. We will also look at your personality type to help you find places in which you can live out your natural gifts and abilities.

  5. Where am I going with my life now?
The objective for this week is to apply what you have learned about yourself and find places for you to live out who you are in the world.
