Teaching Congregations
Teaching
Congregations is a component in M.Div. training to become an
ordained pastoral leader in the church. The graduation requirement
for all M.Div. students is four semesters. Whether you are planning
to be ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America or
another denomination, Teaching Congregations is required for the
M.Div. degree from Luther Seminary.
You will be asked to involve yourself in the
life of a specific congregation. How you are involved
will depend upon the intersection between your gifts and
talents and the congregation's needs. You'll participate in
congregational life with the mentoring guidance of the
congregation's pastor. Your congregation will also provide
the context for connecting coursework.
