Servant, Sent to Set Us Free

Servant, sent to set us free,

give us perfect liberty.

With God’s mercy, through God’s word,

bear the sins that we’ve incurred.

Servant, sent to heal and mend,

bring the peace that you intend.

Cure our bodies, calm our minds,

lend the touch that soothes and binds.

Bear our illness, bear our pain;

give the life that you ordain

for your children, large and small,

for your people, one and all.

By his bruises we are healed;

in God’s promise, we are sealed;

healed in body, saved in soul,

by God’s Servant, now made whole.

Help us, Lord, serve all in need,

all who suffer, cry, and plead;

make me healer, servant, friend,

that my life your grace commend.
