Pronounce the following Greek words from page 1 of the Supplementary Exercises. These words are all from the Basic Vocabulary List.

It will help in learning vocabulary and sounds to listen for the English association in many of these words.

Pronouncing Greek words essentially involves the phonetic combination of the vowel and consonant sounds of each word. . Each vowel or diphthong forms the basis of a syllable. Syllables are normally divided between double consonants. The accent mark indicates the syllable on which the accent/stress should be placed
