agree with her questions there, or are there other questions you
think are more pertinent? Can you identify some of the main themes
in each classic expression, and explain how they are linked to specific
historical contexts? Finally, pay attention to the way in which
there seems to be a "pendulum swing" of sorts happening,
where each successive expression is in some ways a rejection of
certain emphases of its predecessor. What could and should contemporary
religious educators learn from this?
