The Celtic cross out front of Bockman was a gift in 1956 from the Young People's Societies of Nordfjord, Norway. It is a copy of the oldest cross in Norway, which dates to about 1000 A.D. The symbols on the left are the first letter in the Greek word for Jesus, and the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet (alpha and omega). The symbols on the top mean "Christ the light of the world." The symbols on the right stand for a four-word Latin phrase meaning "The Word of God remains forever."

The basement of Bockman houses the largest campus computer lab as well as a few classrooms and faculty offices. The main floor has classrooms and offices, and the top two floors are single student housing. On a sunny day, you’re sure to find folks out front of Bockman, sunning themselves, studying, or just hanging out.
