Paul's Arrest

Acts
21:33-22:29

Accusations that Paul brought Gentiles into the Temple led to Paul's arrest. Before being taken into the barracks, he made a speech recounting his activities. His reference to his work among Gentiles led to a renewed outburst.

Context: The Antonia Fortress was the largest Roman military installation in first-century Jerusalem. It was built by Herod the Great and named for the Roman leader Mark Anthony. It was situated alongside the temple, so that Roman soldiers could watch the crowds that gathered there.
